Mac Zen has partnered with Bridges for Women Society, a non-profit agency in Victoria, BC serving women impacted by violence or abuse. Our partnership empowers women starting their lives anew by providing them with vital computer equipment.
You can help support these women by donating your used Mac, iPad or iPhone. As a community service, we will ensure that your Apple device gets wiped clean and made ready for donation to Bridges for Women Society. Bridges will issue a tax receipt for fair market value upon request.
What we're looking for:
- 2009 or newer iMac, Macbook, Macbook Pro, Macbook Air
- iPad 2 Retina or newer, iPad Air, iPad Mini
- Unlocked iPhone 4S or newer
- All devices in good working condition.
Please note that iPhone and iPad devices must be released from Apple's "Find my iPhone/iPad" feature, otherwise it will not be useable by anyone else. You may learn how to do this by following these instructions, or we will be happy to guide you through the process when we respond to your form below.
How do I make my donation?
Simply fill out the donation request form and we’ll contact you to let you know if your device meets the requirements. We will also let you know whether we can pickup your device, or whether you will be required to drop it off at Bridges for Women Society, located at 1809 Douglas St, Victoria, BC V8T 4K8.
Once we have your computer, we will clean the exterior, securely erase the hard drive, and reinstall the operating system.
If we find problems with the hard drive, we will use existing refurbished hard drives, but cannot pass on computers with more serious issues for donation. In most cases we would be happy to use your computer for parts—perhaps your computer can help repairing another.
What if my Mac is too old to donate and I would like to recycle it?
Please consult Encorp Pacific's "Return-It" Program for the nearest electronics recycling depot. There are no fees to drop-off your computer at these locations.
We promise that the information you submit below will never be used to send you anything other than communications regarding your donation
